I would like to draw your attention to the usual practice of COP not to make reference to any particular type of forest, for the reason to avoid listing a large number of specific forest types at national, regional, or global level.
Please note that the usually accepted wording is 'all types of forests'. In particular, wording such as 'ancient' or 'old' forests are likely to draw objections from other Parties.
I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that technical and scientific details of forest biodiversity and other issues to be discussed at COP are usually first tabled and discussed in the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) of the Convention.
